Do you know what the fastest-growing, multi-billion dollar criminal industry is? Human trafficking makes more money than Google, Starbucks, Nike, and the NFL combined. Worth about $150 billion, human trafficking is one of the largest-growing concerns any community faces. In fact, human trafficking is second only to illegal drug trafficking in terms of overall criminal worth.
Given the magnitude of crimes such as these, it takes strong, community-driven organizations to combat. Organizations like People Against Trafficking Humans (PATH of WNY) work toward limiting the criminal risk of human trafficking within our own community. As a proud partner, OneBridge Benefits was honored to contribute to the latest, social distanced PATH fundraising event—Transformation Tour and Fundraiser—on October 8, 2020.
The PATH Transformation Tour and Fundraiser was held to commemorate the newly relocated and renovated Enrichment Center. The building was made possible by the generosity of donors, allowing PATH to expand its operations in August 2020. Those who attended were safely guided through the new facilities with educational tour speeches and video content. Event-goers were also offered the opportunity to make their own donations in the form of room sponsorships.
After the conclusion of the tours, guests of PATH were invited outside to socialize from a distance and enjoy some refreshments under the tent—all provided by OneBridge Benefits as a commitment to the cause and mission of People Against Trafficking Humans.
The Enrichment Center allows the team at PATH to continue providing support services for human trafficking survivors and working alongside other Western New York community leaders in an effort to combat the tragic rise in human trafficking crime. Although the event did celebrate the progress PATH had made over the past several years, they, along with OneBridge know that there’s always plenty of work to be done. Therefore, we look forward to sponsoring events and opportunities to come together with other event sponsors and contributors, such as Rich Products and Saturn Club, in the future.
PATH is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that offers various therapeutic support services to adults, women and children who are at-risk or have been exploited through human trafficking. The PATH Enrichment Center is located in Buffalo, NY, and serves as the foundation for the PATH mission of ending human trafficking through education, prevention and restoration.
